Things to Do in Vancouver while Studying Abroad
1. Go for an adventure
Vancouver is one of the greenest cities in the world. With over 230 parks, the most famous being Stanley Park, Queen Elizabeth Park, Lighthouse Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and Lynn Canyon Park, there are lots of places to relax in Vancouver.
In addition, if you are up for it, Vancouver’s proximity to the ocean and mountains offers endless opportunities to explore. With beautiful hiking trails and diving spots only minutes away, Vancouver is about as picturesque a learning destination as it gets.
2. Activities for days
There is always something to do in Vancouver. With such a diverse population, its attractions are incredibly wide-ranging, perfect for international students. With spots to enjoy alone or in company, including Granville Island, Science World, Gastown, Chinatown, Playland and more, Vancouver is fun for everyone!
3. Sports and the outdoors
Vancouver is a sports and recreation city, with each season offering its own unique sporting opportunities. In the winter, hit the mountains for some snowboarding, snowshoeing, and skiing on fresh snow. In the spring, try hiking, biking, rock climbing or paddle boarding. In the summer, hit the beach for a swim and late-night music concert. In Vancouver, every day is different if you want it to be.

Vancouver has a very active nightlife, an ideal city to hit the town with some friends. With tons of different bars, clubs, music venues and food shops, especially on the Granville Street area, a night out in Vancouver promises to be memorable. If you are looking for something a bit more relaxing, there are lots of different night markets available, too! The Richmond Night Market and the Christmas Market are our favourites, offering food from all over the world – yum!
